Syangboche

From Lukla (2,840 m), where you enter the ‘Everest Highway’, the trek to Syangboche takes about four days.
If you are a good walker, you can reach the Sherpas’ hometown, Namche Bazar (3,440 m) in just two days. It is recommended that you spend about three days there to acclimatize yourself. From Namche, it is then just a three-hour-climb to Himalaya Sanso.

The flight to Lukla, by the way, currently departs from Ramechhap Airport, about a four-hour-drive from Kathmandu.
As an alternative, a motorable road has now been completed to Bupsa, which can be reached by a two-day drive. Then from Bupsa to Lukla it’s a trek of one day. This route captures the idyllic ambience of an earlier time.
